Manual produced in terms of Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act No. 2 of 2000 ("the Act")

While the subsidiaries of the KayDav Group Limited each has separate manuals, access to information is facilitated through the same access point. Thus information referred to below are for KayDav Group Ltd and its subsidiaries. Thus, for example, while KayDav Group Ltd itself has no employees, reference is made to Human Resources information as its subsidiaries do employ staff.


Main Business

KayDav Group Ltd is an investment holding company whose shares are listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. The company's subsidiaries carry on the business of the wholesale and retail distribution of wood based panels under the following trading names: KayDav Group Management, Davidson's Discount Boards Ottery, Davidson's Discount Boards Brackenfell, Davidson's Discount Boards Strand, Davidson's Discount Boards Silverton, Davidson's Discount Boards Langlaagte, Davidson's Manufacturing and Kayreed Board and Timber.


KayDav Group Limited is a private body as defined in the Act.

2. Part II: Description and Access to the Guide – Section 51(1)(b) Guide

A Guide has been compiled in terms of section 10 of the Act by the Human Rights Commission. It contains information required by a person wishing to exercise any right, contemplated by the Act. It is available in all of the official languages.

This guide will be available for inspection by the public at the offices of the SA Human Rights Commission and on its website.

6. Requesting Procedures

Any person who wants access to the records must complete the necessary request form. This prescribed form is available from the Department of Justice website at www.justice.gov.za. Alternatively the form can be requested from the KayDav Group Ltd head office.

The completed request form must be sent to the address, fax number or e-mail provided in this manual, and marked for the attention of the Information Officer.

The Information Officer will process the request and inform the requestor of the fees (if any) that are payable and of the different procedures that must be followed until the request is finalised. The fee structure applicable to private bodies is available at the office of the Company.

Should your information request be refused, you may lodge an application at court against the tender or payment of the requested fee as will be advised in the Notice to you (in terms of (sec 54(3)(b) of the Act).
